Description

Design and implement feedback control algorithms for complex mechatronic systems, ranging from prototypes to released products.

Responsibilities

• Design feedback control algorithms using classical PID control laws in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Develop and test new controller designs on hardware.
• Perform reduced order modelling to optimize controller design space exploration.
• Review MATLAB/Simulink models and software requirements to ensure technical accuracy.
• Partner with systems engineering and validation groups for design reviews and documentation.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for modeling and simulation.
• Experience designing and implementing position, velocity, and torque feedback controllers.
• Knowledge of discrete signal processing methods and algorithms.
• Experience with reduced order modelling of mechatronic systems.
• Familiarity with multi-body kinematics and dynamics.
• Knowledge of techniques for real-time estimation of uncertain parameters.

Preferred Skills

• C++ coding for prototype-level development.
• Experience with real-time software on microprocessor-based systems in a Linux environment.
• Hands-on experience with medical device development, regulatory processes, and safety considerations.
