Description

You will manage the design of transmission line projects for wind, solar, battery energy storage, and stand-alone transmission projects from conception through construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Manage transmission line design performed by engineering consultants from early-stage conception through execution.
• Define and influence project requirements and scope in coordination with Early Stage Project Managers and Development Groups.
• Secure engineering consulting resources by developing scopes of work, securing bids, and awarding work through the Integrated Supply Chain group.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to secure routes and necessary engineering data, including geotechnical and lidar data.
• Oversee engineering deliverables including Issued for Bid, Issued for Procurement, Issued for Construction, and As-built drawings.
• Represent internal and external interests by briefing management on project progress, issues, and risk mitigation.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years of direct experience in the development, design, engineering, and construction of High Voltage Transmission line projects.
• Technical competence in interpreting one-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, and plan and profiles.
• Experience sourcing and contracting geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
• Proficiency with PLSCADD, Microsoft Products, Auto-CAD, and Primavera.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and value engineering skills.
• Ability to travel within North America.

Preferred Skills

• Project Engineering or Project Management experience.
• PMP or P.E. license in a related discipline.
