Description

You will lead substation projects from initial conception through construction and commissioning.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned substation projects through all phases, from early-stage development to final execution and commissioning.
• Provide technical oversight and due diligence for external engineers of record to ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and project specifications.
• Manage engineering consulting resources by developing scopes of work, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts through the supply chain.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to secure sites, manage permits, and support engineering updates.
• Review interconnection documentation, including system impact and facility studies, to ensure compliance with ISO requirements.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
• Expertise in Project Management and project leadership.
• Deep knowledge of IEEE, NESC, and ASCE industry codes and standards.
• Experience managing high voltage substation design and engineering.
• Ability to manage long-lead major material orders and project budgets.
• Experience coordinating with transmission owners, operators, or ISOs.

Preferred Skills

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
