Description

You will own the technical direction of scalable, distributed systems, ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability across the platform.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Architect long-term solutions aligned with business goals and platform health.
• Drive adoption of engineering standards in object-oriented design, testing, and query architecture.
• Lead technical risk assessments and evaluate build-versus-buy decisions against organizational constraints.
• Mentor engineers at all levels, elevating team capability and technical judgment.
• Identify and remediate platform-wide security and performance risks.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in complex product environments.
• Deep mastery of Ruby on Rails, including internals, Active Record, and middleware behavior.
• Full-stack proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience architecting and scaling large distributed systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to resolve complex technical challenges under pressure.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams.
• Strong communication skills for translating complex concepts into clear decisions.
