Description

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems and microservices for large-scale, public-facing web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and build major products or features from scratch.
• Manage relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization.
• Integrate various systems and APIs to maintain a cohesive backend architecture.
• Review team code, provide technical feedback, and mentor less experienced developers.
• Coordinate with front-end developers to ensure backend systems support user experience requirements.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a Python Developer.
• Advanced proficiency with Python and the Django web framework.
• Extensive experience with Django Rest Framework and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong database skills using relational systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Proven ability to incrementally roll out features and refactors in live production environments.
• Strong unit testing and debugging skills.
• Solid understanding of Agile development practices and the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience maintaining technical documentation.
