Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable automation frameworks from scratch using Java.

Lead the automation testing efforts for microservices and backend APIs using REST Assured, Postman, or Newman.

Validate complex end-to-end retail banking customer journeys, including transaction flows, ledger balances, and payment processing.

Perform deep backend debugging, execute Linux commands, and analyze application logs to isolate defects.

Integrate automated test suites seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle.

Collaborate closely with development teams to implement mocking, stubbing, and contract testing strategies.

Required Technical Skills and Qualifications

9+ years of dedicated experience in QA Automation and SDET capacities.

Strong hands-on programming proficiency in Core Java.

Proven expertise in API Automation using REST Assured, Postman, Newman, or Karate.

Substantial experience working within the Retail Banking, Payments, Cards, or FinTech domains.

Strong understanding of microservices architecture and backend verification concepts (schema validation, service contracts).

Solid experience setting up or managing CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and version control with Git.

Comfortable with Linux execution, environment navigation, and log analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Karate API testing framework.

Knowledge of API security validation mechanics (OAuth2, JWT, tokens, and custom headers).

Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.

Experience contributing to high-level test strategies, planning, and mentoring junior engineering talent
