Own the design, development, and modernization of complex, enterprise-scale Java applications and microservices.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and hands-on implementation for modules or subsystems, ensuring high code quality.
• Design and build backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL, supporting Angular or React frontends.
• Migrate legacy monolithic systems to modern, cloud-ready architectures with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
• Perform performance profiling, JVM tuning, and memory analysis to resolve bottlenecks and optimize throughput.
• Mentor engineers across teams, guiding design decisions and ensuring adherence to SOLID principles and layered architectures.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong proficiency in building RESTful APIs, SQL databases, and Hibernate ORM.
• Experience with microservices architecture, Azure cloud services, and containerization (Docker).
• Proficiency in frontend frameworks, specifically Angular or React.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, Maven/Gradle, and unit testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• Understanding of design patterns, hexagonal architecture, and event-driven systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Service Bus for API and file-based integrations.
• Background in shipping/logistics workflows or scientific data processing in Genomics.
• Familiarity with advanced performance profiling and memory analysis tools.
