Description

You will drive cross-team technical initiatives to improve engineering processes, systems, and architecture. You will own the technical strategy for core productivity tools and ensure architectural consistency across the department.

Responsibilities

• Drive department-wide conversations around technical issues, engineering practices, and architectural consistency.
• Coordinate with engineering and product leads to define, prioritize, and task projects aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership through mentorship, pairing, and code reviews to grow engineers at all levels.
• Collaborate with design, analytics, and product management to solve complex engineering and product problems.
• Advise management on key initiatives, technical gaps, and potential blind spots.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, shipping, and maintaining high-quality software at scale.
• Expertise in at least one of: Ruby, Go, .NET, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Deep troubleshooting skills across network, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing, storage, and distributed services layers.
• Proven experience contributing to technical strategy and roadmaps.
• Strong asynchronous communication skills for working in a distributed, remote environment.
• Ability to design and implement scalable systems and software engineering patterns.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of production system monitoring and observability.
• Ability to blend system design and software engineering concepts pragmatically.
