Description

You will optimize and enable database engines on Arm servers by identifying software bottlenecks and missing blocks.

Responsibilities

• Identify software bottlenecks and missing blocks to enable and optimize database engines on Arm servers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define enterprise database requirements.
• Upstream patches and maintain code through active work with open source communities.
• Develop and deliver software to support Arm IP.
• Influence technology through collaboration with architects and engineers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficient C/C++ coding skills with hands-on experience developing server-class software.
• Experience with database engine internals or equivalent areas like filesystem internals.
• Extensive experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing multi-threaded software systems.
• Deep knowledge of operating system internals, filesystems, and memory architecture.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture.
• Experience with open-source project development cycles and contribution processes.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL or MySQL codebases.
• Knowledge of CPU pipelines, caches, MMU, and NUMA and their impact on software performance.
• Understanding of I/O and networking impacts on server-side application performance.
