Description

Lead the architecture and development of scalable REST API stacks and complex web applications for Maropost’s analytics and cloud-native products. Drive technical governance, design reviews, and best practices across the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance, scalable backend systems and microservices using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.
• Architect multi-tenant solutions with strict data isolation, including schema-based and database-per-tenant strategies.
• Integrate ML and NLP engines into web applications and manage API endpoints for multimodal clients.
• Drive innovation by evaluating and improving development tools, frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership, ensuring code quality, security standards (TLS/SSL), and industry best practices.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience designing and architecting backend applications and web apps, preferably in commerce or marketing automation.
• Expert-level proficiency in Ruby on Rails (RoR) and advanced PostgreSQL/MySQL database optimization, including indexing and query tuning.
• Strong knowledge of High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and design patterns.
• Experience deploying applications at scale in production, with a focus on performance-driven solutions.
• Proficiency in microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Understanding of networking protocols, security standards, and tenant data segregation techniques.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud services (Azure, GCP, or AWS) for managing infrastructure, VMs, and load balancers.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) and open-source reverse proxies (Nginx, HAProxy).
• Knowledge of advanced database replication topologies (master-slave, multi-master) and caching (Redis, Memcache).
