Description

You will manage and maintain virtualization infrastructure within a large financial institution environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own incident management and coordinate resolution calls for CPU, RAM, disk, and network resource issues.
• Build, configure, and manage Linux operating systems and KVM-based virtualization solutions.
• Execute VM migrations, including VirtualBox to KVM, and manage Qcow2 image creation.
• Manage KVM virtual machines using Virsh, Cockpit Web Console, and Virtual Machine Manager.
• Collaborate with internal teams and support vendors to resolve host-based resource incidents.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in an operations role.
• Deep expertise in KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) installation, fundamentals, and hypervisor management.
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS administration and hardware virtualization.
• Proficiency with Virsh, Cockpit, and Virtual Machine Manager for VM lifecycle management.
• Experience managing LXC containers and KVM/Xen/QEMU virtual machines.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using Unix and Oracle SQL for log and issue debugging.
• Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, HTTP error handling, and Web Services.
• Understanding of client/server architecture and PaaS/IaaS cloud services.

Preferred Skills

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Virtualization.
• Experience with BSD or Solaris environments.
