Description

You will provide nursing care and person-centered education within a campus First Aid Center setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess students using a triage approach and respond to medical emergencies on campus.
• Observe student self-administration of medications and oversee the medication observation process.
• Perform treatments as ordered by providers and record vital signs.
• Document essential findings and progress within student health records.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and assist with ADLs as needed.

Required Skills

• Current Practical Nurse license in the state of Tennessee.
• 5+ years of nursing experience.
• Experience working with individuals with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory practices and adaptive equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to provide clear, concise information in a classroom setting.
• Basic knowledge of electronic data usage.
• Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to manage medical supplies and inventory in a fiscally responsible manner.
