Description

You will design Android user experiences, owning the creation of components and patterns within a design system. You will collaborate with engineering partners to ensure designs are implementable and clear.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design Android interfaces and design system components using Material Design principles.
• Collaborate with engineering to translate designs into functional interfaces, leveraging knowledge of Android component architecture.
• Communicate design decisions clearly to designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure shared understanding.
• Work independently to ramp up quickly and contribute effectively within an established design system.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of product design experience, specifically focused on Android.
• Deep fluency in Material Design, including judgment on when to follow, extend, or diverge from guidelines.
• Experience designing components and patterns as part of a design system, not just standalone screens.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams, including familiarity with how Android components are built.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain design rationale to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in product design or equivalent certification.

Preferred Skills

• Experience contributing to a public or large-scale design system.
• Familiarity with Android accessibility standards (TalkBack, touch targets, motion preferences).
