You will support reelroom, mailroom, plateroom, and pressroom operations under the supervision of the Press/Mail Foreman.
Responsibilities
Manage reelroom tasks including roll handling, preparation, pasteur make-up, reel stand operation, tension settings, and web leading.
Execute mailroom duties such as list preparation, ClientS programming, and operating labeling equipment, stackers, strapping/wrapping machines, and conveyors.
Handle plateroom operations using PC-based plate imaging and press proofing software, including punching, imaging, and processing plates.
Maintain pressroom equipment by cleaning blankets, rollers, and press parts, and assisting with plate mounting and maintenance activities.
Record nightly run time data and track consumables using the production information management system software (PDIMS).
Required Skills
Proficiency with PC applications, databases, printing, and administrative tools.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 35-50 lb newspaper bundles, standing, bending, and constant movement.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Competency in newsprint handling and wraps.
Ability to work a second shift schedule starting between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM and ending between 12:00 AM and 12:30 AM.
Availability to work every Sunday, every Friday, and all holidays or holiday eves.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in press, plate, or mailroom environments.
