Description

You will support the assembly, test, certification, and shipment of optical, resistivity, and thin-film thickness measurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot in-process issues involving optical, mechanical, and electrical assemblies.
• Monitor first pass yield, rework, and scrap rates to propose process improvements and reduce cycle times.
• Review failure analysis reports to validate root causes and implement design or process solutions.
• Develop and maintain operational sequences and build methods to increase efficiency and output.
• Act as the second line of support between technicians and engineering teams to resolve production escalations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science.
• Experience troubleshooting optical, mechanical, and electrical assemblies.
• Strong understanding of system-level interactions between optics, electronics, and mechanical components.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixture design.
• Competency in statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE).
• Ability to test and qualify mechanical materials, optical components, and electronics.
• Technical writing skills for documentation and failure analysis reporting.
• US Citizen or Green Card holder required.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s or advanced degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Experience with SolidWorks, solid modeling, structural analysis, or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Previous experience in supplier development and quality management.
