Description

You will design and review aerial permitting and OSP telecommunications projects for distribution pole line, FTTX, FTTC, and MDU applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform pole loading calculations using Spidacalc and Quickpole.
• Create permit drawings utilizing AutoCAD.
• Interpret field data, land base maps, civil blueprints, survey documents, and field sketches.
• Validate map and drawing information against network facility records and governmental resources.
• Develop pole line designs to support FTTH, BAU, relocation, and MDU projects.

Required Skills

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in Ontario.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Expertise in Quickpole, SpidaCalc, OCalc, or PLS CAD.
• Experience with Aerial Communications line and pole inspections or design.
• Knowledge of CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 Overhead Systems and O.Reg. 22/04 guidelines.
• Proficiency in OSP Design and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to conduct technical research and interpret complex civil and structural data.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1), distribution networks (F2), and 5G/Smart City high-level designs.
• Experience with highway, railroad, city, and county permitting processes.
