Description

You will support and modernize the Syndromic Surveillance module within the Georgia State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Syndromic Surveillance module mechanics and existing functionality.
• Redesign functionality in the Oracle APEX framework while transitioning from legacy PL/SQL.
• Continue supporting staff users of the Syndromic Surveillance module.
• Modernize the system by moving away from PL/SQL towards Oracle APEX implementation.
• Work with the retiring legacy developer to understand current system logic.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming.
• 5+ years developing web application front ends using hand-coded HTML and JavaScript.
• 5+ years experience with the full project lifecycle in implementing web-based systems.
• 5+ years of work experience with Oracle RDBMS.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and exercising good judgment while working with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle APEX framework.
• Background in public health or government surveillance systems.
