Description

You will manage Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR) onboarding, processing, and maintenance for health data systems. You will own the end-to-end workflow from ingestion to downstream delivery, ensuring data integrity and timely resolution of production issues.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Execute ELR onboarding using HL7 2.5.1 standards and manage production monitoring tasks, including alert handling, dashboard development, and issue identification.
• Investigate ELR processing errors independently, diagnose root causes, and implement proposed solutions to maintain system stability.
• Collaborate with Rhapsody developers to enhance existing integration routes or define specifications for new ELR processing workflows.
• Process laboratory data submitted via alternate flat file formats and coordinate the management of standard interoperability vocabularies within the disease surveillance system.
• Act as the primary liaison for downstream ELR data users and support routine maintenance tasks such as parallel validation and LOINC code assignments.

Required Skills

• 1-3 years of experience with ELR onboarding or maintenance, preferably within state or local health departments.
• 1-3 years of experience with Rhapsody or defining technical specifications for Rhapsody developers.
• Proficiency in writing statistical and analytical programming code using SAS, SQL, or R.
• Strong working knowledge of HL7 2.5.1 standards and XML data structures.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with health data interoperability and disease surveillance systems.
• Background in healthcare data standards beyond HL7, such as LOINC or SNOMED.
