Description

You will lead engineering support for modifications and new construction projects at natural gas compressor stations.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and conceptual design to cost estimating and closeout.
• Oversee detailed design development by external Engineers of Record and verify all engineering drawings and calculations for code compliance.
• Develop technical specifications for procurement and lead bid evaluations for engineering services, equipment, and construction contracts.
• Provide field engineering support, troubleshoot construction issues, and assist with testing, commissioning, and startup of new facilities.
• Conduct supplier facility inspections and collaborate with project management to align technical objectives with schedule and budget.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience in applied mechanical engineering.
• Direct experience with the design, construction, and operation of natural gas compressor station equipment.
• Deep understanding of natural gas and balance of plant systems.
• Working knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192 and Michigan Gas Safety Standards Guide (MGSS).
• Proficiency with ASME Codes & Standards including B31.8, B31.3, B31.1, B16.5/16.47, and BPVC.
• Experience with API Specifications such as API 5L, API 6D, and API 1104.
• Experience in procurement and contract management for engineered materials and professional services.
• Ability to travel to compressor station sites 3-5 days per week.
