Description

You will coordinate field operations, ensure safety compliance, and manage project documentation for marine and heavy civil construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Enforce MSHA, OSHA, and Corps of Engineers safety policies, leading field safety meetings and monitoring compliance.
• Coordinate daily work activities, labor, and material sourcing with superintendents, foremen, and quarry operations.
• Maintain daily logs of crew activities, production quantities, and equipment usage while tracking variances against goals.
• Perform progress surveys, assemble cross-sections, and create bathymetry maps to document installation and project progress.
• Assist in preparing project schedules, identifying delays, and resolving technical layout and documentation issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of combined experience in field engineering, project engineering, or construction management on marine/heavy civil projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam for document control and technical drawings.
• Strong command of construction document control including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress payments.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a record meeting company fleet policy requirements.
• Ability to obtain or possess a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with USACE projects, including familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.
• Proficiency in Hypack for hydrographic and topographic surveying.
• Experience with HeavyBid estimating software.
