Description

Manage complex, high-impact projects using hybrid Agile methodologies within a state government environment. Lead cross-functional teams to align technical delivery with business goals while ensuring strict compliance with procurement and fiscal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Direct project lifecycles from planning through execution, utilizing hybrid Agile frameworks to manage moderate to high complexity and risk.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to maintain team velocity and transparency.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level project updates, presentations, and reports to stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Coach and mentor junior project managers and staff, fostering a collaborative environment across business, product, and technical teams.
  • Ensure compliance with state procurement laws and fiscal policies, managing contract negotiations and vendor relationships.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience managing large-scale projects, with a demonstrated preference for Agile over Waterfall methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Agile project tracking tools such as Microsoft Planner (Premium), JIRA, or similar enterprise solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting and stakeholder alignment.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex enterprise systems and cross-agency collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, information systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of state government procurement and fiscal policies.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience leading application migration projects or complex IT initiatives for government agencies.
