Description

You will lead pre-construction planning and execution for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, owning scope, schedule, risk, and financial performance from development through construction readiness.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project development activities across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines.
• Develop and evaluate financial models, analyzing market data to support investment decisions and executive budget approvals.
• Manage regulatory compliance, permitting, and stakeholder engagement with environmental, land acquisition, and interconnection teams.
• Negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and Generator Interconnection Agreements (GIA) while overseeing vendor management and contract execution.
• Monitor project schedules and risks, presenting mitigation strategies and ensuring successful transition to Construction Project Managers.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of project management experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of BESS, renewable energy projects, or utility infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating highly matrixed teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven ability to analyze market data and support capital project economics.

Preferred Skills

• PMP or Six Sigma certification.
• Direct experience with PPA/GIA negotiations and EPC contracting.
