Plan and manage the day-to-day execution of large government software implementation projects
Own the project schedule, budget tracking, resource coordination, and delivery against the project plan
Manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and change control throughout the project lifecycle
Coordinate the delivery team — developers, analysts, architects, and QA — to meet milestones and commitments
Report project status, risks, and decisions to the Engagement Manager and program stakeholders
Operate within the delivery commitments established in the RFP and contract
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and contractual obligations
Duties/Responsibilities
Develops and maintains detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and deliverables aligned with contract requirements
Monitors project progress and performance, proactively identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies
Tracks project budget and expenditures, and supports accurate financial reporting
Coordinates cross-functional delivery teams, including internal, nearshore, and offshore resources
Facilitates project ceremonies and status meetings, and prepares status reports for the Engagement Manager and stakeholders
Manages change requests and scope modifications through formal change control processes
Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk registers, and decision logs
Escalates risks, issues, and decisions to the Engagement Manager in a timely manner
Ensures all deliverables meet quality standards and contractual obligations
Supports compliance with applicable government, regulatory, and security requirements
Mentors junior project team members and promotes project management best practices
Required Skills/Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
10+ years of project management experience, including large software implementation projects with budgets exceeding $10 million
Demonstrated experience managing delivery on large government implementations
Working understanding of technology and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Proven ability to own project schedule, budget, scope, risk, and resource management end to end
Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery teams, including nearshore and offshore resources
Experience managing projects using Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Azure DevOps
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
