Description

You will develop and manage technical service documentation and customer service content for automotive applications.

Responsibilities

• Gather information independently from technical and non-technical Subject Matter Experts to organize and write service content.
• Interpret source information including engineering drawings, parts lists, procedural mark-ups, and maintenance instructions.
• Develop draft illustrations to support procedural text using model files or existing artwork.
• Translate complex engineering concepts into clear documentation for appropriate audience levels.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and management to ensure accurate, timely deliverables within an Agile environment.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in information development or technical writing.
• 2+ years of experience in writing, editing, technical illustration, or automotive/truck support.
• Proficiency with XML and Arbortext Editor or equivalent XML editing software.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and In-Design.
• Knowledge of structured authoring (DITA).
• Ability to use MS Office tools including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and OneNote.
• Understanding of automotive system theory, including electrical fundamentals, mechanical procedures, and modern automotive systems.
• Experience navigating CAD software such as Unigraphix/NX for article and publication use.
• Project management experience and ability to work within Agile writing principles.

Preferred Skills

• Previous hands-on automotive or dealership experience.
