Description

Lead the automation and orchestration of complex data workflows by modernizing legacy processes into Python-based pipelines.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python automation scripts to orchestrate jobs across on-prem Oracle 19c systems.
• Design and implement Apache Airflow DAGs to manage complex, interdependent ETL workflows.
• Migrate legacy scheduling logic from Perl, RunMyJobs, and PL/SQL into modular, observable Airflow DAGs.
• Build custom Airflow operators and sensors for Oracle, REST APIs, and SFTP/FTP file movements.
• Implement error handling, alerting, retry mechanisms, and audit trails to ensure data traceability and recoverability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Python development experience focused on system and process automation.
• 2+ years of experience building production DAGs with Apache Airflow.
• Strong proficiency in Oracle 19c, including SQL tuning and PL/SQL concepts.
• Experience orchestrating large-scale data movement across enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of job schedulers like RunMyJobs or Autosys and how to abstract them using orchestration tools.
• Experience building REST API integrations and parameter-driven automation.
• Proven debugging skills across logs, databases, and filesystems to resolve failed job runs.
• Ability to work with any graduate degree level.

Preferred Skills

• Experience modernizing legacy workflows from Perl or PL/SQL stored procedures.
• Hands-on knowledge of Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
