Description

Build and maintain back-end services and APIs for healthcare data analytics, transforming data into HL7 FHIR standards.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and build back-end services to compute analytics and generate data extracts from a data lake.
• Transform output into standards-based HL7 FHIR data models and other formats.
• Build custom API servers to provide data to public health agencies and create reference API clients.
• Collaborate with partners and developers to understand user needs and weigh trade-offs between effort and impact.
• Present work at conferences and collaborate on improving open standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Practical experience with Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, BigQuery, Presto, Airflow, Luigi, or Parquet.
• Experience building infrastructure in the cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Strong background in software engineering with a focus on scalable applications, robust tests, and documentation.
• Knowledge of data architectures, databases, and cloud deployment.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of Node.js and front-end development.
• Background with healthcare data formats and APIs like FHIR, SMART, and HL7 v2.
