Key Responsibilities•
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Develop and support RESTful APIs and backend components.
• Design, build, monitor, and maintain data pipelines and workflow orchestration solutions using Apache Airflow and/or Astronomer.
• Develop and optimize data access, integration, and query solutions leveraging Starburst (Trino) and related data platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and developers to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Create and execute unit tests and support integration and user acceptance testing activities.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects, data pipeline failures, and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.
• Work with relational databases to develop and optimize data access solutions.
• Support application and data pipeline deployments and production issue resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software applications using Python.
• 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting workflows using Apache Airflow and/or Astronomer.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience working with Starburst (Trino), including developing, optimizing, or supporting distributed SQL queries and data access solutions.
• 3+ years of experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• 3+ years of experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Experience using Git or other source control systems.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Experience debugging, testing, and supporting production applications and data pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Must be able to work onsite at the client location 3 days per week in Charlotte, NC, New York City, NY, or Northern New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience deploying and supporting Astronomer-managed Airflow environments.
• Experience integrating data from cloud data warehouses and lakehouse platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
