You will develop and maintain rating engines that calculate insurance premiums using Python and Guidewire PolicyCenter.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain backend code to ingest risk attributes and calculate accurate policy premiums, discounts, and surcharges.
• Collaborate with actuaries to translate manual rate manuals and statistical models into executable, production-grade code.
• Build and manage data pipelines using Pandas and NumPy to process historical claims and policy data.
• Develop machine learning algorithms using Scikit-Learn to evaluate risk loss and optimize pricing models.
• Ensure rating logic complies with state insurance regulations by implementing logging and auditing mechanisms.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
• Proficiency in Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation and processing large datasets.
• Experience building classification and regression algorithms using Scikit-Learn.
• Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3) and Azure.
• Strong understanding of Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD tools.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of actuarial concepts, including loss cost modeling and frequency vs. severity distributions.
• Experience with insurance underwriting rules and regulatory compliance (e.g., SERFF filings).
