Description

You will design and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using FastAPI, SQLModel, and Redis. You will own the release pipeline, ensuring clean, efficient Python code adheres to best practices. You will architect database schemas, optimize complex queries, and implement caching strategies to improve API performance. You will create automated test suites for unit and integration testing, while mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews. You will also assist in designing workflows for data lifecycle management, including stale data detection and archiving.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable RESTful APIs with FastAPI and SQLModel.
• Architect database schemas and optimize complex PostgreSQL queries.
• Implement caching strategies, rate-limiting, and monitoring for API performance.
• Create and manage automated unit and integration test suites.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct rigorous code reviews.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong expertise with FastAPI, Flask, or Django REST Framework.
• Deep understanding of REST API design principles and async programming (asyncio).
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and SQL database optimization.
• Proficiency in writing comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployment (OpenShift or Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of API security standards including OAuth2 and JWT.
