Description

You will design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python, ensuring scalable and testable systems.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve systems using Django and Flask, adhering to hexagonal (ports and adapters) architecture principles.
• Implement event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka for asynchronous service communication.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, managing schema design, indexing, and migrations.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS) with a focus on monitoring and reliability.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and incident response.

Required Skills

• 7–10 years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python proficiency.
• Hands-on experience building production applications using Django and Flask.
• Demonstrated experience with hexagonal architecture and clear domain boundaries.
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, and schema management.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills: complex queries, performance tuning, partitioning, and migration management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services for compute, storage, networking, and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with schema registries (Confluent Schema Registry, Avro/Protobuf).
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
• Knowledge of CQRS and domain-driven design (DDD) patterns.
