Description

You will build and maintain core services using Python, managing data workflows and API integrations.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement REST APIs using FastAPI with an async-first approach.
• Orchestrate data workflows using Prefect 2.x/3.x, managing tasks and futures for ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop services handling complex data transformations using Pandas 2.x and PyArrow.
• Manage data persistence, including schema evolution and query optimization in PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Implement resilient systems using patterns like Retry/backoff (Tenacity) and concurrency controls.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Python 3.11+ with advanced type hints (PEP 484) and static typing discipline.
• Proven experience with FastAPI for building async backends and handling streaming responses (SSE).
• Strong command of asynchronous programming concepts (asyncio, async/await, aiohttp/httpx).
• Deep knowledge of database interaction, specifically SQLAlchemy 2.x (ORM + asyncio) with PostgreSQL 16/17.
• Experience with data warehousing, including Snowflake connector-python and efficient query optimization.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines using Prefect 2.x/3.x.
• Familiarity with deployment practices using YAML and containerized environments.
• Experience with React for frontend integration, including TypeScript and Hooks.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with graph algorithms (NetworkX) for pattern processing.
• Familiarity with cloud storage integration, such as Azure Blob Storage.
