Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python.
• Build and integrate payment processing solutions with payment gateways and third-party APIs.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for payment workflows.
• Ensure secure handling of financial transactions and sensitive customer data.
• Implement payment features such as authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, and recurring payments.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, and DevOps teams.
• Follow coding standards, security best practices, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Python.
• Experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with Microservices Architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Understanding of asynchronous programming (Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.).
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.

Payments Domain Experience

• Experience working with payment gateways such as Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Authorize.Net, or Braintree.
• Understanding of payment lifecycle including authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reversals, and chargebacks.
• Knowledge of card payment processing and payment networks.
• Familiarity with financial messaging standards such as ISO 8583 or ISO 20022 is a plus.
• Experience with payment security standards including PCI DSS.
• Knowledge of fraud detection and risk management concepts.
• Understanding of ACH, wire transfers, real-time payments, and digital wallets is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of Python development experience
