Description

You will design, develop, and maintain backend applications and payment processing solutions using Python.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and integrate payment workflows, including authorization, settlement, refunds, and recurring payments.
• Develop secure RESTful APIs and microservices handling sensitive financial data.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.
• Write clean, documented code and perform unit and integration testing to troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure compliance and security standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience with Python development.
• Strong proficiency with Django, Flask, or FastAPI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with Microservices Architecture and containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control best practices.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming tools like Celery, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, etc.) and payment lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance, fraud detection, and financial messaging standards (ISO 8583/20022).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
