Description

Build and maintain high-performance distributed backend services for real-time data processing.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services in Python.
• Build and evolve distributed systems supporting real-time data processing.
• Operate services within AWS cloud environments.
• Write clean, testable production code and participate in architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with platform and data teams to ensure system reliability.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional experience as a Python backend engineer.
• Strong experience building production-grade backend or platform systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts: reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Knowledge of APIs, microservices, and backend service design.
• Strong engineering fundamentals in debugging, testing, and performance optimization.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
• Exposure to data platforms or ML-enabled systems.
• Infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, or DevOps tooling experience.
