You will design and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python and PostgreSQL.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and microservices using Python.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, handling JSON and XML payloads.
• Optimize complex PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
• Implement caching mechanisms and asynchronous processing for performance.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and technical decision-making.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including query optimization and schema design.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and handling JSON/XML data formats.
• Proficiency with SQL and data structures.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kafka for event streaming.
• Proficiency with AWS services.
• Experience with Flask framework.
