You will develop and maintain automation tools for device asset discovery, data collection, and reporting.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation tools using Python and legacy Perl scripts for device asset discovery and data collection.
• Enhance existing scripts to improve workflows and network change management by incorporating new technologies.
• Conduct tooling audits to assess operational coverage and implement necessary remediation changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for network automation solutions.
• Write clear and concise documentation for users and developers.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Python for creating new API-based services and supporting existing scripts.
• Proficiency with networking protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, VLAN, and ACL.
• Experience with Ansible Tower or Ansible Automation Platform for network device management.
• Understanding of RESTful API principles, HTTP methods, requests, authentication, and data serialization.
• Experience using version control systems like Git (BitBucket/GitHub).
• Knowledge of database management systems such as MongoDB for data storage and retrieval.
• Understanding of software lifecycle principles and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with frameworks like Flask or Django for building APIs.
• Relevant certifications in Networking (CCNA/CCNP) or RedHat Ansible.
