Description

You will build and maintain Python backend applications while managing relational database schemas and performance.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Python-based backend applications and automation scripts for batch processing.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support application and analytics needs.
• Design data access layers that integrate Python applications with relational databases.
• Optimize query performance through indexing, tuning, and execution plan analysis.
• Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions and maintain documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Python for backend development and data processing.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, subqueries, window functions, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Experience designing and maintaining relational database schemas.
• Familiarity with ETL concepts, data pipelines, and structured data processing.
• Experience using version control tools, specifically Git.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python frameworks (Flask, Django) for APIs or services.
• Exposure to data analytics or reporting tools.
