Description

You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python and Django.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, scalable software features and distributed microservices.
• Translate product requirements into secure, high-performance RESTful APIs.
• Optimize PostgreSQL databases for availability, scalability, and query performance.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices across the team.
• Integrate AI tools and modern development practices into the SDLC.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert proficiency in Python 3.11+, including modern idioms and type hinting.
• Strong experience with Django, including ORM and templating.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including complex constraints and query optimization.
• Proven experience building and evolving distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms and API design.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to mentor engineering teams.
