Description

Design and lead the end-to-end testing strategy for large-scale mainframe modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategies, tool selection, and automation integration for mainframe-to-microservices migration.
• Extract and create validation data sets from Mainframe environments using IBM DB2, COBOL, and CICS.
• Replicate and execute app-specific test cases from mainframe systems to Java-based microservices.
• Lead the QA team, right-size engineering resources, and manage defect tracking frameworks.
• Document requirement traceability matrices, test plans, and test cases; represent QA in stakeholder meetings.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in QA leadership and test architecture.
• Deep expertise in Mainframe technologies: IBM DB2, COBOL, and CICS.
• Hands-on experience with DB2, SQL Server, IBM MQ, and RedHat AMQ.
• Ability to derive test cases for CICS green screens based on user actions and outcomes.
• Experience implementing test automation at scale.
• Proficiency in Java and microservices architectures.
• Strong documentation skills for test considerations and requirement traceability.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing stakeholder communications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with large-scale mainframe migration or modernization projects.
• Background in US health insurance payers, specifically EDI, claim processing, eligibility, and provider systems.
