Description

You will provide subject matter expertise for RU and RAN/vRAN/ORAN technologies in a virtualized, cloud-native 5G network environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of operational and assurance standards to ensure radio access networks meet design specifications.
• Analyze service and system issues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions, such as configuration changes or new operational procedures.
• Participate in vendor engineering reviews of hardware and software development within lab Proof of Concept environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with deployed RF and RAN systems alongside market teams.
• Develop performance monitoring metrics and service assurance standards using KPI metrics.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in the wireless industry.
• Extensive understanding of 5G ORAN/vRAN split functions including 7-2x, RU, DU, CU, CP, and UP.
• Deep knowledge of RAN/vRAN software architectures in virtualized environments.
• Experience with RF Radio operations over eCPRI interfaces, including CSR, DU, and timing configurations.
• Thorough understanding of vRAN/ORAN architecture as described in 3GPP standards (Rel 15 & 16).
• Experience with virtualized networks, orchestration, and automation across large network architectures.
• Ability to analyze LTE, VoLTE, and 5G VoNR L2/L3 call flows using PCAP and gNB traces.
• Understanding of latency considerations from gNB to Data Center locations.
• Proficiency with RAN, KPI, CI/CD, and PCAP tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in RF Design, Optimization, and performance improvement.
