Description

Lead the migration of Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters to AWS EKS and manage production-grade container orchestration.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage the migration of Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters to AWS EKS.
• Assess current Rancher configurations, perform upgrades, and train the team on cluster management.
• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm.
• Implement RBAC, security policies, and secrets management aligned with PCI-DSS compliance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• 5+ years of specific experience with Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters.
• Expertise in AWS EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Strong automation experience in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Flux.
• Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and system-level debugging.

Preferred Skills

• CKA or CKAD certification.
• Experience with service meshes like Istio or Linkerd and API gateways like Kong or Ambassador.
