Description

Lead research on next-generation active materials for 3D cell architecture and drive development from concept to manufacturing.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new candidate materials including anodes, cathodes, electrolytes, and separators to meet energy density and cycle life targets.
• Develop methods to rapidly screen candidate materials and predict full cell performance.
• Source and specify materials through collaboration with external suppliers and partners.
• Transfer material formulations to external coating vendors for high-volume manufacturing.
• Analyze in-line process, metrology, and electrical test data to drive development cycles.

Required Skills

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience with Li-ion batteries or related technology.
• Hands-on experience in battery materials synthesis and structural characterization.
• Proven ability to correlate material properties with electrochemical performance.
• Experience managing projects from research through to completion.
• Ability to direct characterization and failure analysis on experimental data.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with experimental design and data analysis using tools like JMP.
• Background working in high-volume or pilot production environments.
