Description

Lead technical teams in developing sonar and underwater acoustic products for the recreational fishing industry, owning the full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of new technologies and complex sonar projects, defining objectives and timelines with leadership.
  • Perform technical analysis and design of software, hardware, and signal processing algorithms for complex systems.
  • Define functional and technical requirements to facilitate design, development, and implementation.
  • Develop methodologies and tools for testing and debugging new products and subsystems.
  • Investigate current sonar and underwater acoustics technology to enhance existing products.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in software, hardware, or signal processing algorithm development within sonar, acoustics, or non-destructive testing.
  • Proven experience developing a commercialized Phased Array Multibeam Sonar.
  • Solid programming skills in C/C++.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB programming.
  • Experience with Verilog or VHDL for programming signal processing algorithms in FPGAs.
  • Hands-on experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts and algorithms.
  • Expertise in fixed-point arithmetic programming and Phased Array and Beamforming algorithms.
  • Experience designing, programming, and debugging embedded systems interfacing with analog sensor instrumentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong technical project management skills, including risk assessment, capacity planning, and budget forecasting.
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into system design specifications.
