Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production mobile applications using React Native and Expo
• Build new mobile features from requirements, specifications, and Figma designs
• Work within Agile squads alongside Product, Design, QA, and other engineers
• Own features through the full development lifecycle from requirements through implementation and QA
• Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs
• Troubleshoot issues across React Native and, when required, the underlying native iOS/Android layers
• Work with Swift/iOS development when functionality requires native implementation
• Apply established native mobile development patterns and best practices within React Native applications
• Develop automated unit/component tests using Jest and React Native testing libraries
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, security reviews, and engineering standards
• Support both existing applications and new greenfield mobile development
• Contribute to CI/CD and mobile release processes using EAS Build/EAS Update, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions
• Leverage GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools throughout the engineering workflow
• Participate in the team's move toward spec-driven development, using specifications from requirements through implementation and QA
• Work with emerging AI-enabled engineering workflows, including Figma MCP integrations and Spec Kit

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong, recent hands-on experience developing production React Native applications
• Experience working with modern/recent versions of React Native
• Strong hands-on experience with Expo
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript development experience
• Experience working within Agile development squads
• Ability to take Figma designs and independently translate them into production-ready mobile features
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams

Nice to Have:

• Previous native iOS development experience, particularly Swift
• Native Android development experience
• Experience troubleshooting React Native issues within native mobile layers
• Experience with EAS Build and EAS Update
• Experience with Zustand and/or TanStack
• Experience with Expo-based navigation
• Experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Web application development experience
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools
• Exposure to spec-driven development
• Experience with Figma MCP servers, Spec Kit, or similar AI-enabled engineering workflows
• Experience developing applications within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments
