Description

You will support database lifecycle management, including migrations, upgrades, and decommissions across global environments. You will install, configure, and maintain SAP Sybase ASE, IBM DB2 LUW, SAP Sybase IQ, and SAP Sybase Replication Server. You will build automation tools using shell or Python scripts to reduce manual daily operations. You will troubleshoot database and infrastructure issues and manage database projects independently. Weekend support is required on a rotational basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage database lifecycle activities, including migrations, upgrades, and decommissions.
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP Sybase ASE, IBM DB2 LUW, SAP Sybase IQ, and SAP Sybase Replication Server.
• Build automation tools using shell or Python scripts to streamline daily operations.
• Troubleshoot database and infrastructure issues and execute database projects independently.
• Build relationships with regional DBA teams and provide rotational weekend support.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a DBA supporting large-scale implementations.
• Strong experience in SAP Sybase ASE (12.5.4 to 16.0) or IBM DB2 LUW (9.1 to 10.5) administration.
• Proficiency in Red Hat Linux (versions 4.5 through 8).
• Experience with SAP Sybase IQ and SAP Sybase Replication Server.
• Ability to write shell or Python scripts for automation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex system environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-regional collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of SAP Sybase Replication.
• Experience with multiple database platforms.
