Description

You will manage and maintain RHEL 8 servers across physical and virtual environments, ensuring system performance, security, and availability.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL 8 servers in physical and virtual setups.
• Monitor system performance and resolve outages, bottlenecks, and security issues.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, kernel updates, and manage user access controls.
• Configure network services (DNS, NFS, SSH, FTP) and implement backup and recovery procedures.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or Python and maintain system documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.
• Strong hands-on expertise with RHEL 8 administration and the Linux command line.
• Proficiency in Bash shell scripting and package management (YUM/DNF).
• Experience with system monitoring tools (top, vmstat, iostat) and log debugging (journalctl).
• Knowledge of filesystem management (LVM, RAID) and networking concepts.
• Ability to harden systems using firewall configuration and SELinux policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE.
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
