Description

Debug hardware, electrical, PLC, robot, and vision systems to identify root causes of recurring issues.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Update Siemens PLC code and Cognex machine vision programs for new part models and process changes.
• Develop and implement Mitsubishi robot programs to enable new model processing and performance improvements.
• Design and build functional mechatronic prototypes to explore the feasibility of scalable solutions.
• Manage project plans to transition lab-scale prototypes into deployable, scalable systems.
• Maintain machine uptime by ensuring planned downtime does not exceed 5% per shift.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in automation or mechatronics.
• Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and Cognex machine vision.
• Experience with Mitsubishi robot programming.
• Working knowledge of 6-axis or SCARA robotics, pneumatics, servo motors, and motion controllers.
• Familiarity with PC-based control systems and optics principles involving CCD cameras and 2D/1D lasers.
• Ability to use Python, Java, C++, or Swift for automation tasks.
• Experience with CAD, mechanical drawings, and process design for manufacturing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Excel VBA.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Design of Experimental (DOE) fundamentals.
