Description

You will design and develop robotic systems for oil & gas drilling and pipe-handling applications, focusing on autonomous control and sensor integration.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time control software, telemetry, and remote operation capabilities for robotic platforms.
• Integrate sensors (ultrasonic, LiDAR, pressure) and control systems for autonomous drilling and pipe handling.
• Prototype and test robotic control solutions in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Conduct field trials and validation tests in simulated and live oil & gas environments.
• Analyze performance data to optimize systems for safety, reliability, and efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Required Skills

• Hands-on working knowledge of Actin and Energid robotic control software.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and ROS (including ROS Industrial 2.0, RViz, MoveIt).
• Strong understanding of control systems, kinematics, and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with industrial sensors such as ultrasonic, inductive proximity, LiDAR, and pressure sensors.
• 5+ years of experience in robotics development.
• Ability to work in field conditions and travel to remote sites.
• Experience documenting engineering processes, test results, and system configurations.

Preferred Skills

• Background in oil & gas robotics or heavy industrial automation.
• Experience with autonomous manipulation and data acquisition systems.
