Description

Maintain and evolve IBM iSeries systems while providing technical direction for automation and migration strategies.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modify existing programs by developing detailed logic and coding.
• Write new program code to meet user requirements and functional needs.
• Test modifications and evaluate interrelationships between programs to prevent unintended results.
• Confer with users to define requirements for program changes.
• Provide on-call support and solve problems related to database design and system modifications.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of RPG iSeries experience, including RPG II, III, IV, and RPG ILE.
• Proficiency in Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
• Strong SQL skills, including analyzing complex queries, embedded SQL in SQLRPGLE, and cursor programming.
• Deep knowledge of database concepts: Physical files, Logical files, SQL tables, Indexes, Views, and Stored procedures.
• Experience with object-oriented languages such as Java, C, or C++.
• Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and coordinate hardware or software solutions.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to make strategic recommendations regarding application migration and automation.
