Ruby on Rails Developer

You will build new features and maintain the Travelers Haven product within a collaborative development team.

Responsibilities

• Transform user stories into working product features.
• Collaborate with engineers to build new functionality and pay down technical debt.
• Write clean, tested code and implement testing strategies to prove functionality.
• Identify and implement process and product improvements.
• Participate in design, ideation, and regular refinement sessions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of web development experience.
• 2+ years of production experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL/SQL.
• Experience with AWS and Heroku.
• Competency in RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with ReactJS or AngularJS.
• Practical experience with RSpec and TDD.
• Ability to write custom algorithms beyond framework built-ins.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing high-volume, publicly facing production sites.
• Knowledge of Sidekiq or RabbitMQ.
